Ongi etorri is the sentence that we use in Basque to welcome people. Our language, the Basque or “euskara” has uncertain origin but it is clear that it is one of the oldest languages in Europe. Our sports and the traditional works (fishermen, whale fishermen and shepperds) and the Basque discreet personality has made the our people very interesting for travellers. Come to discover them with our tours!
All the Basque culture is bounded to our land, our sea, our mountains and our valleys. Therefore, visiting our coastal villages, fields or mountains is a wonderful way to understand and enjoy our history and exotic life. We have more than 8 Nature Parks and 2 Reserves by Unesco: Urdaibai and Geoparkea. This last park is like an Geology book of the history of the world, showing shocking moments like the disappearance of the dinosaurs.
You will be surprised to learn that Loyola is in the Basque Country because one of the founder of the Jesuits was from that neighborhood in Azpeitia. But did you know that the fashion designer Balenciaga and the first person to sail over the world: Elcano were from a small fishermen town called Getaria? And that Victor Hugo lived in Pasaia a town close to San Sebastian which was also the birth place of the fashion designer Paco Rabanne. Other things will be even more amazing like seeing working the oldest hanging bridge in the world in Getxo. Or to learn that Guernica is not only a painting by Picasso but a town which is a symbol of Basque identity and Biscay old law.
We have “Olentxero” instead of Father Christmas and we play weird instruments like “txalaparta“. Rowing competitions of “traineras” are incredibly popular and lifting stones is here a sport. Here we have the origin of “Jai Alai”, the sport with the fastest ball in the world, a sport that we can play it with our hand, with a wooden racket or the famous xistera. We love good food, good drinking and good living.
In our private tours we enjoy all these things and much more. So come and discover them with me.
Gero arte!, which means in Basque “See you soon!“.

From the moment we met at the airport until he left us right there, we found a friend in Aitor who, it seems, we had known for years. Friendly, fun, highly educated, concerned with details and absolutely professional. He knows both history and art, wines and gastronomy. He showed us incredible landscapes and great attractions of the Basque Country. 100% recommended.

I had always dreamed of visiting the Basque Country since I was a young girl but was unsure how to make this dream come true. Luckily, I was able to find Aitor Delgado, who helped me finally live out my dream as my special birthday present to myself. (...) I now feel like I have a friend in the family of my homeland and that I finally feel connected to my Basque ancestors.

we did a driving tour of the Basque region close to Bilbao. This was a mix of visiting Guernica, a bird sanctuary, coastal areas, and cities/locations mentioned in our own coat of arms. It was a very pleasant and informative day that was completely different than our first day in Bilbao. (...) I would book with Aitor again in a heartbeat.

Without much guidance other than our group's affinity for wine and food. Aitor was able to give us not only that but also sprinkled in history as well as the absolute best experiences in Hondarribia and San Sebastian. None of us wanted the day to end and we were sad to leave our newfound friend for our ship that evening. Thanks for the everlasting memories Aitor!
